Project background
The original Woodford STP was built in 1978 and was partially upgraded in 1999.
In June 2010, GHD conducted a comprehensive Planning Study of the Woodford STP Upgrade Project to determine how to achieve maximum capacity at the Plant.
This Planning Study produced two options for the upgrade. The preferred option was a Conventional Activated Sludge process, based on both cost and non-cost reasons.
Project details
The proposed upgrade limits the need for new process units and wherever possible makes use of existing facilities and infrastructure.
Based on current population and flow projections, the proposed upgrade of the Woodford STP to a capacity of 2600 equivalent persons (EP) will provide sufficient capacity until 2019-2020.
The plant will continue to produce Class A recycled water.
