Potable water carriers

To operate as a water carrier distributing potable water for domestic consumption, you must be licenced under The Food Act 2006 (PDF). Please see your council for more information.

To access potable water via a metered hydrant standpipe or fixed fill station, you will need to complete a permit application and meet the necessary conditions. Contact Customer Service for more information.

Please note you will need to pay a deposit for the access key and swipe card. The deposit is fully refundable when you cancel your permit and return the key and swipe card.

Cancelling your Permit

If you would like to cancel your permit, you will need to advise us in writing that you are no longer carrying potable water.

You will also need to return the access key and swipe card. We will then return your deposit by cheque – made out to the person/company noted on the original deposit receipt.

Selling Your Business

New owners must apply for a new access permit when they start operations.
