Laboratory services

Customers who have a rainwater tank or use bore water or dam water can request a Unitywater water analysis service for a fee.

To test your water, the process is as follows:

  1. Complete the Application for Water Testing and pay the relevant fee.
  2. A water sampling kit containing two bottles and sampling instructions will be provided.
  3. Deliver the samples to one of our laboratories before 2.00pm Monday – Thursday. Note:  Samples will not be processed outside these times.
  4. Laboratory facilities are located at:
    • 67 Weier Road, Morayfield (Moreton Bay customers) or
    • 38 Commercial Road, Maroochydore (Sunshine Coast customers)
  5. A water test report will be provided within 5 working days from receipt of the sample

Testing will include:

  • pH
  • Conductivity
  • Turbidity
  • Iron
  • Manganese
  • Nitrogen oxides
  • E.Coli
  • Total coliforms
  • Aluminium
  • Ammonia

These tests will provide basic information for assessing the suitability of the water for domestic use.
