'Healthy and Thriving Holidays' kids' art competition

This holiday season we’re inviting kids ages 0-12 to get creative and submit a drawing of how they’ll be using water these school holidays. From doodles to masterpieces, we’re excited to see what connects the children of our region to earth’s most precious resource!

Selected artwork will be featured on our website, social media channels and more throughout this holiday period to show off the creativity and unique perspectives of young people in our community. Plus, four lucky winners will each take home a Rebel Sport voucher.

A new mural is coming to life

Tia, a talented local artist from Pomona, will be transforming nearly 60m2 of blank brick and retaining walls at our Castways Beach pump station into a vibrant work of art.

The beauty of the local Burgess Creek will be brought to life through Tia's artwork, showcasing the rich diversity of flora and fauna native to the area. Expect to see stunning representations of local wildlife and plant species - drop by and say hello to Tia if you walk, run or cycle along this coastal track.

Tree roots are a nuisance

One in three pipe blockages and overflows are caused by tree roots!

We are encouraging residents to pause before they plant as tree roots find their way into pipes to access the water and continue growing in there, effectively blocking the pipe or becoming a mass that other debris can attach to. 

We have a smart planting page that lists specific plants that you should and shouldn't plant.
