Why is my bill increasing?

To help meet the Queensland Government’s target of building 215,000 new homes over the next 20 years across Moreton Bay, Sunshine Coast and Noosa, Unitywater needs to invest around $2 billion in water and wastewater infrastructure to connect new customers and maintain service levels for existing customers.

From 1 July, the average annual combined Unitywater bill will increase by 1.6 per cent which equates to around $28 per annum.

In addition to already passing through the State Government’s bulk water price freeze, Unitywater will now match this freeze on water charges and keep them at the same rates as last year. The increase relates to wastewater charges only.

For the average customer, your water and wastewater bill will increase by $28 per annum, which equates to $7.25 on a quarterly bill, or around $0.56 per week.

Choose 'Your first bill' if you've recently taken ownership of your property.

This bill will be slightly different 'Your regular quarterly bill', which you will receive ongoing.

If you're unsure, look at the 'Your account activity' section on page 1 of your bill. If this is your first bill, the amount of 'Your last bill' will be $0.00.

Updates to the look and feel of your bill make it easier to read, and language like ‘sewage’ has been updated to ‘wastewater’. Neither change affects your service or charges.
