Graduates will be inducted into the organisation over the first three months of their employment. They will be partnered with a Workplace Buddy, a previous Unitywater Graduate, to support them as they settle into their new role. The induction includes:

  • A half-day detailed overview of the Graduate Program, team building session, guest speakers, personality profile and a networking opportunity with past and existing Graduates.
  • A full-day overview of Unitywater, covering our People, culture, corporate strategy, future direction, history, operations and impacts.
  • Site tours of the Contact Centre, Network Control Room and a Sewerage Treatment Plant to get to know the organisation.
  • A development planning session with formal self-paced training in our uLearn system.

The work rotations include core rotations, based on the Graduate's discipline, and non-core rotations, based on other areas of interest to the Graduate within the organisation.

Key learning outcomes are set for each rotation specific to the team function, and handover meetings are held between rotations to discuss the Graduates' achievements, strengths and areas for development.

Graduates will have ongoing career conversations with their leader as well as a formal check-in with the Talent Acquisition and Pathways Advisor every six months to discuss experiences, learnings and development opportunities to date.

Working together as a cohort, Graduates are tasked with a Group Innovation Project.

Graduates will be enrolled in a Project Management course to support them with the principles required to work together on a project for 12 months. The project will be supported by the below stakeholders:

  • Project Sponsor (an Executive or Branch Manager) to provide context, organisational guidance and support.
  • Technical Experts to provide professional advice and guide project oucomes, and
  • The Talent Acquisition team to provide general guidance and support.
