Piñata Farms

Award-winning strawberry farmers Piñata Farms were one of the first growers to sign up to the Scheme. Managing Director Gavin Scurr says WIS gives him the confidence to fully plant the farm, even through dry periods that used to force him to walk away from crops.

Greenstock Nurseries

Horticultural specialists Mark and Amy Handy relocated Greenstock Nurseries from Elimbah to Wamuran to access the Scheme, backing their long-term sustainability and growth.

Recycled water quality management

Safe, high-quality recycled water is produced and supplied under Unitywater’s approved Recycled Water Management Plan (RWMP). The plan sets out the treatment, monitoring and testing requirements that ensure recycled water consistently meets Class A standards and is suitable for approved uses, including irrigation of minimally processed food crops.

Ongoing monitoring and verification provide assurance that recycled water is produced in line with the Australian Guidelines for Water Recycling and public health is protected.
