Unitywater Executive Manager Strategic Engagement, Joshua Zugajev, said the program would provide grants ranging from $2,000 to $20,000 to support projects that foster collaboration, strengthen community connections, and deliver outcomes aligned with community priorities and the organisation’s Strategic Ambition.
“We are proud to be delivering a program that supports enhanced liveability and sustainability outcomes for our communities,” Mr Zugajev said.
“The program is built around three key themes: natural environment and liveability; First Nations peoples and connection to Country; and innovation and the future of water,” he said.
“Focusing on these areas will support more connected, healthy and resilient communities where people and the environment thrive together.”
Unitywater has awarded more than $150,000 in community grants since 2020, providing a total of 29 community groups with the essential funding they need to help deliver programs that support environmental outcomes.
Mr Zugajev said a new online grants hub would make the submission process smoother for applicants this year.
“The grants hub supports people through the process of submitting and then tracking the progress of their application,” he said.
Eligible applicants must be a community organisation, educational organisation or First Nations-owned organisation delivering the initiative in the Moreton Bay, Sunshine Coast or Noosa regions.
