From 1 July 2025, the average residential Unitywater customer will pay an extra $1.59 per week, or $20.75 more on each quarterly bill.

Unitywater CEO Anna Jackson said changes to customer prices will help cover rising operational, infrastructure and financing costs.

“Unitywater bills cover the costs of operating, maintaining and growing networks and treatment plants, and the assurance of 24/7 teams to maintain and respond to keep quality water and wastewater services going across our supply region, which stretches from Everton Hills to Eumundi,” said Ms Jackson.

“Key expenses for our business, such as energy, construction materials and process chemicals have continued to increase.

“We’re also looking to the future and will invest more than $450 million throughout the year in the vital pipes, pumps and treatment plants that service our communities across Moreton Bay, Sunshine Coast and Noosa.

“With our region currently supporting the largest population growth in Australia – with more than half a million additional people targeted to live here within the next 20 years – we will invest $2 billion over the next five years so our local community and economy can grow with confidence.”

Bills also incorporate the State Government’s bulk water charges, which support catchment management, upgrades to water storage dams and treating bulk water.

Ms Jackson said Unitywater was committed to supporting a healthy and thriving community, by prioritising sustainable outcomes and services that deliver value for money.

“For those in our community who need help to manage their bill, we have a range of customer support options available,” said Ms Jackson.

“Anyone’s circumstances can change and even if you just need short-term help, please feel comfortable to reach out to us as soon as possible.”
