Good Samaritan Catholic College scored the championship trophy this year in the annual event’s biggest turn out so far, with 84 teams from schools across the Sunshine Coast, Moreton Bay, and Noosa competing in three divisions: Championship, Boys, and Development.

Unitywater Executive Manager Strategic Engagement, Joshua Zugajev, said it was a delight to see the highly anticipated event, which was designed to support young people in the community stay healthy and active, reach new heights.

“Unitywater is proud to be the Sunshine Coast Lightning’s community partner, supporting grassroots netball clubs in our service region and continuing to encourage people to enjoy fresh, safe water from the tap and reduce the need for single-use plastic bottles,” Mr Zugajev said.

“Congratulations to Sunshine Coast Grammar School for winning the Boys division, and the Development winners, St Andrews Anglican College.”

Sunshine Coast Lightning team members made an appearance throughout the day, including mid-court player Mahalia Cassidy who won Members Player of the Year Award for the 2025 netball season.

“It was exciting to see so many future netball stars out on the court where a love for the game begins and really encouraging to see 20 boys’ teams participate this year – netball is a game for everyone,” Ms Cassidy said.

“Sunshine Coast Lightning is happy to have teamed up with Unitywater for another year to keep everyone in the community hydrated and active together.”

The event included a ‘strike zone’ with local food trucks, games, and Unitywater’s Drink Tap van to keep people hydrated throughout the day, dispensing 1185 litres of fresh tap water and saving the equivalent of 2369 single-use plastic water bottles from entering landfill or the environment.
