The Narangba Wastewater Network Capacity Upgrade (NWNCU) is a critical part of Unitywater's wastewater network, transporting wastewater from Narangba, Burpengary, Deception Bay and Morayfield South-East to the Burpengary East Wastewater Treatment Plant.

To support future growth across the region, Unitywater is upgrading the network to provide additional capacity, improve reliability and maintain service levels for customers.

The project is expected to include:

  • approximately 11km of new wastewater pipeline
  • a new wastewater pump station on Mackie Road
  • upgrades to existing wastewater pump stations on Mumford Road and Delaney Road
  • associated infrastructure and network improvements.

The upgraded network will support approximately 33,670 future residential lots and accommodate around 100,000 new residents across Morayfield South, Burpengary East, Narangba East and Pine Valley over the next 20 years.

Where possible, the new pipeline alignment will utilise existing road corridors, service corridors and established easements to minimise impacts on the surrounding community and environment.

Benefits

  • increased wastewater network capacity
  • improved network reliability and resilience
  • reduced risk of wastewater overflows
  • support for sustainable growth across the region.

Construction will be delivered in stages to help reduce disruption, with works progressing through one section of the alignment at a time.
Unitywater is committed to keeping the community informed as the project progresses.
