Frequently asked questions

There was a sinkhole below the road, the sinkhole was the size of a car!

It was not safe for vehicles to drive on that section of road. We had to close it to keep our people and the community safe while we stabilised it.

The road had to be stabilised. Then a large section of road had to be excavated, old infrastructure removed, new infrastructure installed and connected, the sinkhole and road repaired and then reinstated.

The road partially reopened on Friday 20 May 2022, with reduced speed limits and traffic management in place.

We’ll keep this page and our Facebook page updated when we have a timescale for the road to be fully reopened.

No. The sewers are still flowing. We have worked hard to ensure sewerage services have not been impacted.
