UPDATE: Wednesday 18 May 2022
Kenilworth water treatment plant is operating normally again.
The plant was taken offline last week during severe wet weather, which stirred sediment in the source Mary River and reduced water quality. In those situations, treatment plants may be taken offline until water quality returns to normal.
There were no impacts to residents’ water service while the plant was offline.
Thank you for bearing with us while the plant got back up and running.
UPDATE: Friday 13 May 2022
Tankers are carting water to local reservoirs in Kenilworth, while road conditions allow, with wet weather impacting source water quality at the local treatment plant.
Residents can continue using water as normal and should not notice a disruption to their services.
Customers who rely on fill stations in town should use our community fill stations located in Cooroy, Nambour, Warner and Highvale.
Kenilworth draws its raw water from the Mary River and extreme wet weather can impact the quality of supply. Plants may be taken offline until water quality returns to normal.
We’ll continue to post updates here. In the meantime, thank you for your patience.
